Why is it named “Secondary Succession” ? The term is used in ecology to explain:

the process of ecological community recovery that occurs after a disturbance destroys an existing ecosystem but leaves the soil intact

Which, without giving away too much information, seems like an apt metaphor for the current phase of my life.
